All the World Was A'spinning, and the Good Rains Never Fell

All The World Was A'spinning, And The Good Rains Never Fell

Back when I was just a dead leaf cast upon the cold ground
I was all a jitter living a life without a sound
But the deep echoes, the screaming echoes of dancing ghosts
Are from that darken place where the devil plays the guest host
All the world was a'spinning, and the good rains never fell
Demons came out dancing, leaving behind all that damn hell
I was watching the hellish show from my old hiding place
With a ton of worries, a sad grimace upon my face
I looked up the sky was falling and white snowflakes came too
I was on my knees a'praying, Heaven wouldn't take you.

As bad nightmares go that was a real god smacking whopper
A voice called out, she is gone you couldn't stop her
Now buck you self up and face this dying world you have made
You have been deceived and man have you been so played.

Robert J. Lindley, Sonnet

I am glad I had happy days in my past. They were wonderfully wild. Sadness was hardly a frequent visitor. Nor will I allow it now. It takes work when it starts creeping I ll, Panagiota

I can tell when work was done. Because it's hard to tell what is from the real or not. being left is the only thing you know is real. only now wondering what angel or demon would make her do this?

Your expressions of the way you felt and the torment you received from evil was courageous to continue on and find hope again. It is such a joy to that the deception is not real. Glad to have you back and writing your usual outstanding poetry my dear friend. Write On! Bill

Thank you very much my good friend. I was blessed/lucky back in my youth. I came out of some very bad scrapes with only minor wear and tear. God bless..

Robert, your sonnet is exquisitely crafted. In the bygone days when you were naught but a lifeless leaf, abandoned upon the frigid earth, you trembled in silence, devoid of purpose. It brings solace to my soul to learn of your triumphant emergence from this harrowing ordeal.

Yes, my friend I managed to survive far more than just this one. Must have had a guarding angel back in my youth. God bless..

Well, my friend, part of the nightmare was real back then but I survived it all. God bless.
