All That I need

Sunsets of ruby and emerald seas Sapphired moonlight that beckons with ease Jewels that require no wallet of greed Wealth is the mindset of all that I need Turquoise reminders of nature’s parade Mornings to cool us in amethyst shade Hues of the richness of all that is free Open my eyes to see what’s there for me Roses that guide us to gardens of white Bees that provide us with honey’s delight Songbirds that carry the afternoon breeze So many favors that carry no fees Fire of opal to warm hearts of stone Pearls of the wisdom for all that we’ve known Sunshine of diamonds to light summer sky When will they notice, these fools such as I

You are certainly no fool my friend Mike, on the contrarary you a a wise man who can visualize all the simple things of nature that you need to survive on. I enjoyed the humbleness that comes across with this poem and congratulate you on your mindset. A fav for me, hugs and blessngs, Jennifer.

So true. It took me a long time to figure out that the cultural influence of commercialism gives us a message that is not true. Money and spending doesn't make us happy. I got fairly well off for part of my life, and it didn't make me happier at all. In fact just the opposite.

Well done dear Mike with beautiful rhyming and excellent content. A true gem of a poem. Blessings are showered on us and loveliness is around us. But we have no time to pause and enjoy! "Open my eyes to see what’s there for me" A beautiful supplication, applicable to all!

Another FAV for my list, Mike. Lovely Couplet poem, my friend. The rhythm was excellent, the poem flowed along smoothly as I read. I liked your use of gemstones in your couplets. The closing line added a thought-provoking line for each of us to ponder. Well done! Bill

Hey Mike, Your poem is a gem! I love how you show the world with rich colors and images, telling us of all the incredible treasures right before us. You've got a knack for highlighting the hidden wealth in everyday moments. And that ending! "When will they notice, these fools such as I?" It's a powerful call to appreciate the true riches that are free and available to all. Keep spreading your message of mindful appreciation, Mike! - Blessings, Daniel

Calling yourself a fool is only a ploy. Beginning with the marvellous colors of sunset, you go on with a wonderful poem of rainbow calibre. Well done.

Your lines hold all the beauty found in colors of precious gems, flowers, and even the richness of honey. Mike, your last verse made me think of the song, "Fools Rush In," but if you're a fool for appreciating and valuing everything you perceived as special in your poem, then I too, am a fool.
