All For One-- America Freedom

For hundreds of years they have come to our shore,
The humble and frightened, the weak and the poor.
They want to be part of this land of the free.
They vow to protect it. God save our country.

Our forefathers bought it with blood, sweat and tears,
Good men have died for it down through the years.
They left it with honor to you and to me.
We vow to protect it. God save our country.

Our military keeps our flag flying high
And folks for its honor are willing to die.
So if you would join us, please come legally.
We vow to protect you. God save our country.

They’ve come in great numbers from all of the world,
To settle in peace where our flag’s been unfurled
In states melded together, one nation to be,
Which has vowed to protect them. God save our country

No matter one’s color or manner of speech,
Her skirts are voluminous, lengthy her reach.
We’ll blend together in a sweet harmony
And she will protect us. God save our country.

Very good poem here! You have done an excellent job of communicating honor and sacrifice, war and peace, equality; and it also is a prayer. Amen to that. God save our country.

subtle yet powerful message Joyce. Goes hand in hand with John Kennedy's message if the country is to survive. "ask not what this country can do for you...ask what you can do for this country" Or there will not be a democracy for immigrants to come to.
