Alien Dawn
I am waiting for that alien dawn,
the one that shatters minds
to reshapes souls.
When the sky sheds its secrets
I want to be there
knowing the danger,
but showing up
as any human should.
And if they come at last
will they be from somewhere far
or somewhere very near,
perhaps under our feet
or the seven seas all along.
My only fear
is that I miss that show.
I want to be alive
when the mind of man
becomes alien to itself,
when the stars arrive in all eyes
to shine out into a cosmos,
wonders we had only dreamed of
in deep space comic books.
