Alchemy

What play of nature, gods, or fickle fate
Enacted to place you there and me here?
What are these omnipotent forces' plans
As across this yawning chasm we peer?

Do you feel the touch of my reaching heart?
The warmth as I embrace you with my thoughts?
As each day dawns I hope to comprehend
The purpose of this carnival that thwarts

The sense of you I feel with every nerve
Your spirit inundates my every pore
I curse these chains of distance that we face
As every day I grow to love you more

But trusting in the strong bond that we share
One day shall blend the water with the air ~

Hi Nigel, thank you for your comments. I hope the distance has narrowed somewhat since this write... but still in reading you can feel the champing at the bit and in the last lines the temperance of patience ..... Good work Nigel !

Love and distance. When there is a will there is a way. I tried it Nigel but my honey couldn't waite for me she was out in California way and I was in NY. Distance can take it's toll. It did on my relationship. That bond must be embraced and rienforced with steel and love beyond anything. Excellent write brought back memories. Blessings to you Nige land your's Michael Torres
