Seventh Place

Air, Water and Spirit Talking

 

I am the air talking, I want to remind you that breathing is important,
in Canada, the Indigenous People consider me sacred,
and have appointed themselves my protector,
you must realize that without me the earth will vanish,
I am essential for every single living thing people, animals, and plants.

I am the water talking, I am the giver of life and I am alive,
spiritual and symbolic among the Indigenous People of Canada,
I represent both life and death,
I am creation and destruction, I am soothing and I am powerful,
I am nourishment and deprivation, I am important.

I am spirit talking, I am a way of life, a moral code to live by,
it is about lore, customs, rituals, and love that unite us together,
a person's spirit returns after death as an animal or plant,
and each person has lived many lives, though you do not remember,
our history and spirit is expressed in stories, songs, art and dreams.

We are the elements of air, water and spirit,
all connected in this world by nature and beliefs,
and each element either us or others have their own energy to give,
so, we suggest to each person to live in harmony with the world,
because we all share the same soul.

Miranda Hawley September 23, 2023 at 8:59 PM Indigenous People of Canada, is strange language to me. Okay I know that it is the politically correct version of the word "Indian" a word we basically cannot use at all any more. That said the voice you have given the elements is strong and that is why you placed. I am not sure I agree we all share the same soul, BUT I do agree that we need to live in harmony. I wish more of us knew we need to live in harmony, or what that could look like. Congrats, on your win in my contest. Yes, in Canada we cannot say Indian, we must say First Nation People or Indigenous People. It is a respectful thing and I am proud of these strong people so connected to the elements, who also have a deep connection to nature and want to preserve the natural world and for their spiritual beliefs.

Unfortunately man is polluting the elements to an abominable extent and it is more suicidal than cutting the branch on which one is seated. Great entry for the contest. All the Best.
