Ain'T It Fun
At sixty I was saying I’m not forty any more.
Muscle doesn’t come from a magic wand.
You have to work hard, for there’s no store,
to purchase muscle, only atrophy is beyond.
Now at seventy four, I really feel the pain.
Lugging a chain saw around in 103 degrees
takes more than eating Wheaties and grain.
It takes a lot of stubbornness, if you please.
I’ve never been afraid of doing hard work.
Only fear of not being able to get it done.
I have my days when hard tasks I’ll shirk,
But my boss lady reminds me, isn’t it fun.
