Age Old Love

. for public domain

She stands beside me,
one foot in Heaven,
one foot rooted firmly,
on this sullen Earth,

and between we two,
all that has ever been,
all I ever long to see,
all that is or could be,

appears on Her face
when She smiles at me,
and holds my coat sleeve,
to steady our footsteps.
