after the storm

you managed to get blown away ~ I tried too but couldn’t even sway

says the depressed tree to its fallen sibling ~ still life’s brighter today

Living in the paths of many hurricanes, I've witnessed MANY such dire endings to beautiful trees... ancient oaks who didn't deserve to be split, splintered, and broken. Monoku is still your forte' David.

I seem to have stumbled upon a little niche on the monoku form Lin, just a natural progression methinks, I bet you have witnessed every category of hurricane on the chart, living next to the warm waters of the gulf, poor trees have no choice but to stand their ground, the trees in my Monoku here are only used for perspective, I think depression with a little ironic hope, is the bigger picture, cheers David

Looking on the bright side, a good supply of winter fuel. Remember when I was in Athlone a few years ago and Storm Ophelia hit the west of Ireland, it took down a big tree near where we were staying. The next morning it was gone, they must have sawn through the night lol. Tom

I remember it well Tom, was a nasty one, at least it was forecast, not like the beast that hit uk years ago knocking down a million trees, and the forecasters got it all wrong, (Michael Fish) was hung out to dry lol! Cheers David
