After the Fall
Rain- a welcome to hibernating skin . .
a Southern accent can melt snow from the highest mountain
in the wind, a voice carries,
alone and waiting
You could be secure in warmth
yet, a chill invades and you allow its touch to take hold
I am aware
that you are capable of being the rush of freedom,
as quivering lips
thirst for adventure
- frost has chosen its path
As my entire being trembles,
while feeling a liquid lullaby lingering lightly along the skin
I realize
in that moment,
feeling is after the fall
