Notes About The Poem

After the Election

After the Election After the election, I’ll have plenty to say, because the results didn't favor my way. For a great while I'll feel very stressed. This president's plans to give someone less. After the election, if my person had won, it would have been all smiles, delight and fun. Honor and justice would have branched out. Yet, deceit and bigotry has taken the bout. Now I sit and ponder the way of the world, waiting and watching whatever unfurl. Unfortunately, peace and calm won’t begin. Protesters have taken up signs, again. After the election, it was hard to understand. Why would voters choose this particular man? Now the tally is in; there's no more mystery. This whole thing becomes USA history. 10/27/16 AFTER THE ELECTION - Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Kim Rodrigues

Well written, allowing the reader to perceive there own bias in their reading...good luck in the contest...though the line.. deceit and bigotry has been shut out.. brings me to my own conclusion to whom you speak

How true!! We do tend to get depressed when our candidate doesn't win and this year the possibilities are quite dire. Maybe we should start drinking now. LOL I do fear the future of a nation when an ominous presence is vying for the presidency. Well said, Janis.

Janis, I had to read this one, I cannot enter the contest because I am Canadian, but we watch the progress closely, because if a certain person wins (and that is a horrible thought) we expect lots of new applications for citizenship... great write and best of luck in the contest ~

You can send me that application now. I just got a little chuckle out of that and I thank you for it, blessings to you, Janis. P.S. I see your new contest is about old things. I guess I'll be speaking of myself mainly.
