After the Break-Up With Him

AFTER THE BREAK-UP WITH HIM Surplus Jack of all trades - I should be gone - I am master of none. This apple garden fades : On a cold lonely eve Along the Neva bank, my Running feet slowing by Heavy thought, I grieve - The snake-end of Eden. Unforgiven, I missed the train, Only two minutes too late, I saw the swing of a gate Slither, and me abandon To an endless dark station, To despair. All my hopes turned To hell fury - a woman scorned Like Eve without Adam, spurned. A nightless day, a queen unthroned. Stars are flying, music dying Perhaps the serpent was lying. Two half-apples on the market-stall: Their equal parts make a single whole
