THE MOON BY DAY - Suzette sonnet Poetry Contest  N/A

There is the moon right behind the clouds and until the morning dew, we can still see the African Moonflower, the bloom of gleams, sylphs of the night.  Opening as the sun reflects off the moon’s surface. The flower opens quickly in the evening.  Beautiful and mysterious moonflower's creamy white blooms as the moon glows causing the flower to stay open through the night. Because of the earth’s rotation, the sun will set as the moon rises and the blooms unfurl from cone-shaped buds as the sun goes down. On overcast days when a quarter moon is out and can’t be seen, you can smell their exuding sweet fragrance in the air, before closing up again the next morning.  A full moon will set in the west, soft petals iridescent white illuminates from the garden. Trumpet-shaped vines stand erect in the sun’s full exposure.

Moonflower with white trumpet-shaped bloom Dewy emerald leaves surround in nights gloom. Cased in rich soil beneath a quarter moon. Planted vines loosely knit—by my bedroom they sit. Sweet fragrance they emit— to incense I submit. Stunning tropic morning glories amaze Sunlight and moonlight upon them gaze. Phantasmic nightlamps in jade landscape haze. Night’s primrose, moonglow calls—unveiling enthralls. Dangling shadowy shawls— glistening waterfalls Flowery white faint lavender tones loom. Oh sleepy Moon by day lucidly lit, Behold twilight’s glimmer on garden’s walls: Gibbous Moon’s gleam suspending in a daze.

Excellent entry for the contest, Anaya. The photo was a plus to your lovely poetry. Reading was easy as your words flowed smoothly. The imagery was able to bring us into the beauty of the flower. The introduction was well written and set the poem up well. Thanks for sharing you poetry with us, and good luck in the contest. A FAV for me to read over and over. Smiles ~ Blessings Bill

Anaya, I find immense delight in the verses of your poem, adorned with exquisite metaphors that captivate the senses. Your impeccable selection of words possesses an irresistible charm. A sonnet is gracefully woven with monorhyme, a stroke of brilliance. The nocturnal emanation of fragrance from the Selinicereus adds an ethereal touch to your work.

You rose to this challenge wonderfully Anaya. Your sonnet is lovely, and the task of so many forms of rhyme, wafts through your poem with ease. The images you have produced are delightful.

A challenge indeed, syllables rhymes within feminine rhymes. Aren't the flowers just beautiful awe let's pick up some seeds and plant some. I think the only ones who'll get the Suzette Sonnet Variant are those who have entered the contest. Whew!

Your choice of words is appealing. A sonnet in monorhyme. Excellent. The Selinicereus exude such fragrance at night. I used to grow thousands of cactus. Now I'm too old to care.

Paul is viewed as the great interpreter of Jesus’ mission, arguably one of the most important. The doctrines of Christianity primarily come from Paul’s teaching. I agree!
