THE MOON BY DAY - Suzette sonnet Poetry Contest N/A
There is the moon right behind the clouds and until the morning dew, we can still see the African Moonflower, the bloom of gleams, sylphs of the night. Opening as the sun reflects off the moon’s surface. The flower opens quickly in the evening. Beautiful and mysterious moonflower's creamy white blooms as the moon glows causing the flower to stay open through the night. Because of the earth’s rotation, the sun will set as the moon rises and the blooms unfurl from cone-shaped buds as the sun goes down. On overcast days when a quarter moon is out and can’t be seen, you can smell their exuding sweet fragrance in the air, before closing up again the next morning. A full moon will set in the west, soft petals iridescent white illuminates from the garden. Trumpet-shaped vines stand erect in the sun’s full exposure.
