Advice To a Young Socialist

ADVICE TO A YOUNG SOCIALIST

You’d better be good
You’d better not cry
You don’t get what you should
I’m telling you why
Santa Claus ain’t coming to town

The governments got
No gold Apple tree
It gets all of its pot
From you and from me
Santa Clause ain’t coming to town

Politicians in glee
Like to give things away
But for everything free
Someone else has to pay
Santa Clause ain’t coming to town

I know you feel entitled
To have everything you need
Provided by a welfare state
That the government decreed

But
You’d better not claim
More entitlements due
You’d better see plain
I’m telling you true
Santa Clause ain’t coming to town

So it’s time that you’ve grown
Responsibility
You better postpone
That next spending spree
Santa Clause ain’t coming to town

And it’s time that you knew
Though it may cause you strife
Father Christmas not true
No one owes you a life
Santa Clause ain’t coming to town

You think that it’s unfair that
Someone else has more than you
And a proxy act of plunder
Will purloin what you feel due

But you‘d better not whine
You’d better not pout
That you want to some of mine
In another handout

And there is no big list
Of goodies for you
Better try and exist
On what you yourself do
Sant Claus ain’t coming to town

Thanks for explaining what I was saying. I wasn’t aware of it. Any time you would like me to explain your words, don’t hesitate to ask. With respect, Arthur.

You have to wonder how a nation like the USA ranks last place in healthcare among western nations, then again you have kinda explained this well. Good job

Boy, Geoff, you rang the bell loud and well!! Problem is, those who need to hear it won't-- deaf, blind, and dumb, oh so dumb! I especially got a kick out of it, my friend, as I was a socialist myself as a young me- and, yeah, I was dumb.

:) Bravo! Excellent write...but those who need to listen are playing computer games, and they won't hear it in the classroom that's for sure.

Regrettably so. Most classrooms are halls of darkness and deception. Thanks for the feedback, Joe.

Amen. Nothing is free. Someone has to pay. And the rich didn’t get that way by sticking around to pick up the tab. They will go to another country and you end up with Greece or Venezuela!

that is so wrong, and also un Christian. Countries that provide basic human services fair well better than USA, instead of reading bible verses, look at what works.

Thanks, Lyric Man. It is good to know that someone else in this medium shares this view.
