Adrift In Severed Agony
That disheartening obsession
is detached from reality
Another retinal wink message
blinks SOS pillow bleak
Drifting off to sleep,
void dreams of awakened passion
falls into an impotent abyss
The empty anesthesia bottle,
caressed by a pained heaving chest,
has swallowed all of yesterday’s sorrow
But, tomorrow’s groping mope
is gonna need another icy liquid borrow
As more orbital messages
get sent in all sizes and shape bottles
Laying on a synthetic cool waterbed float,
adrift in severed agony
A volcanic wave of unprompted lava tears
gushes up from deep below
There’s a capsized, fragile heart breaking apart,
upon a sea of cantina glass ...
from a shattered, sigh low expectation ceiling
Unnoticed affection ... fractured hope of so many
phantom romantic daydreams scattering
Fragments of jagged, jilted pride —
an unrequited wrist of scarred coping
Adrift in severed agony ... such a turbulent flow
Pick up the pieces of a broken, unspoken hello
Severed agony tales spin hollow
Still cracked hope must keep that mirror facade,
aloof happy smile appearance together ...
for the sake of the next café parked shooting star
Whose unaware that they’re in need
of a dear fatal attraction follow
Transfixed lonely cries,
of shadow watcher eyes ...
with a tearful, splintering glow
