Adding To a Cat's Diet

There’s a query that I need to conclude, about my cat who with mice does collude. Now I’d pay the price to get rid of these mice - Where can I buy mouse-flavored cat food?

G'day Michael … the mice have a weapon that appears to work. They breed quicker than a cat can catch them. I read your poem 'mouse and cat' - Lindsay

Hi Lindsay, when you find out let me know, I know that's what cats are supposed to do but no one has told my cat, I love this little limerick, thank you for sharing and take care......Vera

Hello Vera … funny how a tiny mouse sends a house into panic, but at times a cat just back and says 'it's your problem, not mine; is dinner ready yet?' I trust you had a great festive season Vera - Lindsay

Oh yes, I never had a cat who killed mice. The most one of my cats did was just toss one about!!! Good one, Lindsay

G'day Andrea … that's what cats tend to do. Have them as a living toy, but usually they end up killing the mouse, but in hindsight, I'm not sure if I ever saw a cat eating a mouse - thank you Andrea - Lindsay

Hello Michelle … unfortunately mice are still only available in a frozen state for pet snakes. I don't think it's a good idea to have kitty fight a python over a thawing mouse - thank you Michelle - Lindsay

Cattle egret love to eat mice (one gulp and mice become fertiliser) but its the rats we need to churn into pet food! Cats prefer to play with mice and birds; once dead, the corpse is left for others to eat. Aloha! Rico

G'day Rico … yes, mice are a source of food for many animals, birds, and reptiles, but not for cats, but this is about catching the blighters in the house and keeping the cat interested. The pet snake will eat them - thanks Mate - Lindsay

G'day Line … maybe because a cat will play with it's food like it does with a mouse, otherwise I don't know - thanks Line - Lindsay

Haha, might be a difficult one, them little blighters are quick on their feet so might be hard to produce. Tom.

G'day Tom … it might also be difficult for the cats if we humans get a taste for mouse - catch you Tom - Lindsay

Great lim! Good question. When you find some mouse flavored cat food, let me know! My dear old cat Jeff is getting mighty finicky when it comes to grub in his elder years and mouse flavor might improve his disposition! Press on, old cobber! - Bob

G'day Robert … thanks again Bob. Jeff might just lie back and dream of yesteryear or maybe a mouse plague. (we had a couple of these in the Mallee. The cats didn't know which way to turn, so they didn't bother the mice) - thanks Robert - Lindsay
