Addiction

Oh sweet addiction ! You are my Goddess
You deliver me from tempest, darkness and fear
Voice of life's problems I cannot hear
So beautiful in your temptress dress.

Oh sweet addiction ! Better than wealth or fame
All night long, incredible pleasure !
I kiss your wine, world's best treasure
At the top of a high mountain, you scream my name !

Oh sweet addiction ! You drowned me in the bottom of 7 seas.
One night of pleasure, whole week of pain
My head feels like it's been hit with a Cain !
Sleeping in a gutter, sunburned head stung by many bees!

Oh sweet addiction ! Get out of my life ! I need joy
I am bigger than you, observer of your dark dissipating sore
My whole life changed, from tiny mouse to lions roar !
The moment of CHOICE to build my life rather than destroy.

Bruce, I am sorry for people who face great addictions like this. Not sure what yours is, but I know even small addictions like I have are so very difficult to break, so I hope you can be free of the chains of your sweet addiction. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas too!! I like your writing style here.
