Absolute Truth
You know I did my very best, but the best was not enough.
I climbed the highest mountain crest, but the best was not enough.
My aim was not so easy, since truth is not easily found,
Yet I plodded on my hard quest, but the best was not enough.
I read books, all sorts, both on philosophy or classical
Until I thought I needed rest but the best was not enough.
Plain truth was notion so elusive, a concept hard to find
I asked the eminent professed but the best was not enough.
My dear Victor, stop now this useless search on absolute truth,
As Pilate rejected truth in jest but the best was not enough.
