About the Time I Started Writing Poems

Once upon a time, my hair was colored blonde. I shed some weight and, as if by magic, kept it off for a few years which were as golden as my hair. My children had barely left the nest, but many new things occupied my time. I took a cruise, saw Rio with a friend, learned to belly dance and play guitar! Golden times are fleeting. One day my processed hair crumbled. It literally crumbled, like straw, in my hands, about the time I started writing poems. Not my best, PD, but one that I am fond of. I think I have exhausted using my ones I consider the best!!

I see you posted this on your 8th day at Soup. Yet your author's note puzzles me: "I think I have exhausted using my ones I consider the best". How can that be if this was only your second etheree posted here? Regardless of that, this makes a thought-provoking little slice-of-life bio chapter telling what you were like right before you caught the poetry bug.

I don't remember the situation, but maybe at that point in time I had already put up my very best etheree and later on, I have written more and more?? I just don't remember what I was talking about there.

beautiful, i don't talk much and my social life consists of a pen and a paper, "at first glance it seems a blue and yellow insignificant plastic, my pen is a weapon with which i channel my mind on paper" someone wrought that. :)

Well...we already know the rest of the story! Poetry is one of your strong points! You are a wonderful poet! Anymore belly dancing? (Speaking of dancing...I saw Black Swan with Carolyn last week. The dancing was beautiful...but being a ballet, I didn't even think to look at the rating "R" I was in shock...I'm old, but have sheltered my brain! I enjoyed the movie, though...dancing was great, but the storyline was weird.)

"My hair is getting thin, but who wants fat hair anyway?" A little humor after reading a rather tragic Etheree. I can see why you love the Etheree. You got it mastered, kid. Love, Dave

The question to be asked...If you had not started writing poetry would you still have your processed hair? I think not, your poetry is marvelous, entertaining, and educational. Therefore, one must look beyond this very important time for another cause. As much as I love children, I would blame the kids. Mac

Impressive, reading each line, the flow is more like you are speaking rather than writing, a unique quality. Wonderful, simply wonderful.

Well I believe that writing poetry can sustain one through "bad weather" of all kinds. Fine example of the form as well. Peace & Blessings Matthew Anish
