About Last Night
I found beauty
In my back yard
Last night
She was standing
Still
Refined
Unmoving
Despite my gaze
Poised
Among the lavender
Her stance
Silent
As the rising moon
Her curves
And graces
Deliberate
As an artisan’s blow
That template
I wish to know
Take her hand
Help her down
From that life
Of stone-cold silence
Beauty
In an ill-fitting dress
Seems all that’s needed
To hold the Tempest
Of live
At silent rest
A frozen moment
Under the hue
Of a passing pink moon
These thoughts
Of beauty
And life
Will but evaporate
With the fading night
I’ll walk away
In a privileged life
While she
Stands rigid
Among the lavender
In stone cold silence
