A world without war

This world that I call mine
The same one we all call ours
Is a most beautiful place;
Self sustaining, it allows us
To grow our own food, to share it
With others, to receive water
From its skies,
To build upon it from scratch,
To create worlds of our own
Within its midst
To love and to appreciate at will

Why,
This world, self sustaining,
Birthed us as its gemstones,
The most rare and precious ones
In the universe
Capable of igniting fires
And extinguishing these as we wish to

Yet,
This world, today
Holds her head down
With a grim look on its face
As we have made of it today
A world which cannot be without war,
A world which cannot be without hatred,
Without we claiming to belong
To certain groups which we call ours
Yet which has in them
The same blood, the same organs,
All needing the same air!

Anoucheka, This is a powerful poem about the state of the world. The lines, “The world, today, holds her head down, with a grim look on its face, as we have made of it today,” to me are the most powerful lines. I love this poem.

Enjoyed your well thought out poem about current events. Some great lines about that remind us of the basic human needs with same blood, organs...great!! I think there are billions who would agree with this poem, and just a few hundred at the top of the monopoly money making pile who push all the division and war for their profit.

Your poem beautifully captures the intricate relationship between humanity and the world, showcasing the potential for love and creation amidst the current state of conflict and division. The imagery and word choice used evoke strong emotions, highlighting the contrast between the beauty of the world and the harsh realities of war and hatred. The repetition of certain phrases emphasizes the interconnectedness between humanity and the world.

You touch on sensitive points but the word that features prominently is -Why? The answer I would give is from the Bible - Revelation 12:9 etal. Until the devil is dethroned for good wars will continue. The Prince of Peace will take action soon. Awesome poem and I like your Facebook page
