A Wonderland At Dawn

I see the flakes come tumbling from pale sky. Grey barren earth below has been effaced. The loveliness nobody can deny. With dazzling snow this wonderland is graced. In morning’s sheen, the frosted limbs of trees are glittering, and all the land’s pristine. I run outside and feel chill winter’s breeze and breathe in air that now is crisp and clean. Deep snow lies glistening upon my lawn. Long icicles are hanging down like spears. Vanished are the streets in the still of dawn, but not for long! A snowplow soon appears. A dawn with new snow is indeed a magic place Andrea. You have so beautifully captured its pristine elegance that is disrupted by a "snowplow!" That does change everything! Congratulations on your win! Blessings of snowy beauty to you!

Delightfully described, creatively experienced but not the kind that does not allow you to come out of your home for days. America and England and generally Europe and Canada celebrate Christmas in an enthralling way - but we, much like Australia - spend Christmas near water, the sea, lakes, river,s dams, etc. but we spend it traditionally with turkey and Christmas carols and family. LOVED YOUR POEM. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Love to see it come and love to see it go. Thankfully being retired I can choose whether or not to venture out or stay in the warm. Tom

The morning sheen. Lovely phrase but at dawn, I am always tired and asleep. But come Summer and I'll be able to see that lovely dawn. Hugs.

Andrea, we had fresh snow flying here too, but it wasnt sticking as with you.i love hos snow excites dogs. They perk with delight at that Different Weather, roll over in it, come back inside set and laughing, whereas they dont want to take a single step out in rain. Hmmm. They kmow the magic, too! Love this poem.
