A Wife's Sorrow
A WIFE'S SORROW
Your words are like knives
That cut through my skin.
My head down in shame
Hiding the tears within.
I tried to hide my mistake
You were never meant to know.
How did you find out?
I made no outward show.
That affair meant nothing
It only happened once!
I admit it was stupid,
I acted like a dunce.
How can I fix this?
I want to make it right.
No please! No don't!
I'm out, in the cold dark night.
My marriage is over.
He didn't give me a chance.
Through the window I saw him,
One last look. One last glance.
