A Warrior Mentality

A warrior mentality so to speak – donning our armor of daily fashion; tinted shades closing off soul-windows, concealing from prying eyes of inquisitive nakedness – we clothe fearing being disrobed truth, such privates far deeper than skin Gucci, and likes, the first line of Metropolitan Defense….

Dear Joe What a deep and profound poem this is, for me this depicts how so many are now chasing and engrossed in materialistic glimmer and all that gold that is temporary happiness to hide their innermost truth and light, " gucci and likes" so true, so many find pleasure in those superficial things, likes on social media and brands such as gucci to feed the void! Brilliant poem! Pleasure reading your poem! Sending you light today and always

Not advocating that everyone walk around naked...but maybe we should work on the inner a bit more. Who knows? Just a poem.

I enjoyed reading your wonderful/creative "A Warrior Mentality" write. Much of today's clothes can not be called fashion. I think the wonderful world of fashion has died. I see jeans at weddings or shorts with a tee top at funerals. Really??? Have a wonderful Sunday writing away.........

One word, a lack of "Class". One can be phony, and one can simply feel good, and want that good to be exemplified by clean, well coordinated, occasion appropriate outward appearance clearly projected. Thank you, Paula.

I've read this a few times and can't quite get it. Interesting though. A little help?

Life is a process...death is a process. We die to the old. I will always choose mercy. Redemption. God can make nothing that will eventually fail. It is impossible. He is incapable of failure even by proxy.

Same thing. Hell, destruction. I don't believe God destroys anything or anyone. We destroy things and ourselves...but even these circumstances are not eternal. Hell is eternal...but it is not final resting place for any children souls. Destruction is eternal...but it is not for God's children -- spirit is immortal. No loving God, Father, would create children, giving them free-will to error...and then sentence them to destruction eternal. It defies logic. No way would I do this to my own children. No matter what they did. It is so profoundly against what my heart tells me, that it is not even a notion I would seriously contemplate. The world is not near coming to the end -- God's Judgement. The human race, and his earth, will continue to evolve physically and spiritually. Everything is made of God Substance. How does God destroy himself, The Omnipotent, eternal immortal?

First, I don't believe in a literal hell as taught by religion. Second, the Bible makes clear he doesn't want anyone to be destroyed, yet destruction will come upon the stubborn and rebellious. But I get your poem now, similar to the masks many wear. Thx Joe

Clothing can represent the pride we have in our appearance, and can also represent our desire to hide our true personalities. Either way, it is surface. God, if He does indeed judge, in the sense of condemnation, which I doubt, judges our spirit. If He wanted to send us to hell, He would not have made this planet of possible redemption. I know, this is contrary to your Bible understanding. I truly mean you no offense. I am just explaining my reasoning behind this poem, which you asked. Not a condemnation of fashion -- my wife has designed clothing, taking great care with her appearance.
