A Walk In the Woods

fallen, rotting tree
a short pause to sit and think
what was in this exact spot
one million years past?
my dog whines impatiently
as if he already knows...

I love this because it makes you think and imagine what could be. You see a kindred spirit.

I love this, you captured a moment in time beautifully. I know such a tree, and when I walk in that place I always check on it, check how much more it has decayed, my friend and I named it Hairy, cause it has just a few sprouts at the top, I wonder how Hairy is doing..
