A Village On River Kerio Banks
Grazed to the nub
Denied rain
Blown by dust
The huts stand like solitary stones
On the dry waterbed
The village seems lifeless
But in the mute and silent huts
The occupants sing the song of defiance
Waiting for hope to show up at dawn
