A Valentine Wish

I wish I could have had a normal life
Just one woman that I called a wife
I wish I had all the things they had
those that stayed, friends that wed
I wish the house where I live was mine
the deed with my name on the dotted line
I wish the steps were stairs not children
something claimed over chosen
I wish, I wish, with all my might
that all those valentines
were just one wife

Life is not always smooth as we wish ! We have many longings ! It is not necessary that all those longings are realized in life. An emotive write....

You tell a sad tale with this poem. My love life has been erratic, too. Peace & Blessings Matthew Anish

It sounds as if you had many marriages? I finally got the "stepkids" idea after thinking about that line for a while!! Sorry you did not have just one fine wife. My mom fought constantly with my stepdad but they stayed married 40 years until his death. So I think seeing my mom stick with it (no matter what) set the tone for my own way of facing marriage. It's a long hard row to hoe!! But in many ways , it's worth the effort.

Sighing rhyming wishes eh,! Stability is a genuine and beneficial wish in love. I didn't understand the '.children steps stairs line'. Yet the rest made for a superb read. Nice to read from u again.

Dear Situation Love this very sweet yet sad heart braking write, we all have moments of reflections of what if or what would have happened, my friend, you must remember the good times in your life, and one day you'll find your soul mate, right now her name is hope, and you have to keep her alive within your very soul, for she is the light of loving, cheri
