A Tree

I planted a tree
So tall and strong it has grown
Branches reaching out
It protects me from the Sun
But the rain falls through the leaves

This is a beautiful poem. Even in the strong there is a bit of weakness. Also thanks for reading and commenting on my work.

A short but powerful message - No matter how strong we think we are and how secure our lives may be, there will always be those rainy days that leave us vulnerable. Wonderful poem. Also, thank you for taking the time to read and comment on mine.

I really love this one, you could plant a tree "start on your own life", but you can't protect it from nature taking coarse, enjoyed,..p.d.

There is only so much protection we can get from anything, including trees, Sharon. Pain has a way of seeping through. Very poignant poem! Love, Carolyn

One cannot ride the two horses, Sharon. To enjoy something you have to give up something
