A Timeless Scent
As seasons come and go~
They leave scents
that are endless~
that are unforgettable!
Who can resist the delicate fragrance
exuded by a viburnum,
mahonia and honeysuckle?
The sweet-spicy aroma
emanated by a daphne shrub
midst winter chill?
Who can forget the scents
of earthy herb~like autumn blooms,
chrysanthemums with bursting cosmos,
the sugary scent of Katsura leaves
as they turn to gold in late autumn?
And who cannot be mystified
by the heavenly scents
of cherry blossoms in bloom
in early magical spring?
But of all the unforgettable scents
that seasons can bring~
There is that one scent
that I cannot be happy without.
I the love the petrichor smell
after the summer's first rain
knowing that it's the prelude
to my most awaited exquisite scent~
the scent of blooming roses,
heralding the onset of summer.
The powdery and delicate scent
reminds me of my childhood,
the joy of growing up,
and the sublime feeling
of falling in love~
lasting through all seasons of my life.
The feelings that scent of roses bring
I have no words~
but only one~ TIMELESS.
