A Thousand Words

I could sit here and take up your time. Fill your mind with a thousand words. I could breathe the life and pain that I have witnessed into you. I could stare you in the eyes and ask for help… But when you ask, people don't believe it. When you reach out people don't understand. So instead today I will sit here. With a thousand words that you said to me engraved in my head. I will sit here with the rumors, and lies, and hurt you caused me. I will sit here with a thousand words and mourn the death of a friend Though she’s not truly dead. She is avoiding the idea that she caused the pain I feel. Though she stands there and smiles I know when her smile falters as I walk by that I'm the reason. I know that deep down she knows that she is the reason tears fall from my eyes. I remember the laughs and the smiles we shared. I remember the worlds we conquered and the places we imagined. But do you remember that final moment? Do you remember when I turned around in shame and tears? Do you remember when you took our worlds and made them your own Do you remember when you left me all alone to conquer the world Do you remember when I looked you in the eyes and shared 1000 words. Telling you, Pleading with you… Do you remember my truths and my worries? Do you remember the thousands of words you said you would listen to but never share? 1000 words. I gave you a thousand words.. And it still wasn’t enough. Because look at you standing there. Like you can’t remember the first five words I ever said. Hello, how can I help you?
