A Thankful Heart

I'm grateful for a body free from pain,
For legs with pace and rhythm in their stride,
And hands which soothe, create, and care provide.
All life-enhancing senses still remain.

A sparkling web with pearls of morning dew,
Sweet-scented rose or rainbow up above,
Will make me pause remembering God's love
As nature's free delights bring joy anew.

To have been loved and give love in return
Has been a constant theme along life's way.
I'm thankful for the dawn of each new day,
And value gifts of grace I could not earn.

Aah....Life without pain would be sheer bliss Wendy.....Pain in our lives actually keeps us humble....we control nothing but are thankful for grace that flows through our lives :)

It's important to be thankful for things that sometimes slip under the radar, especially for a body without pain and the sharing of love. Beautifully written, Wendy. Congratulations on your win. Hugs, Carolyn

Thank you very much, Carolyn. The great thing about the contests is that they cause us to pause and consider what a busy life can often push to the background.

Thank you, Eve. I appreciate walking out, knowing that one day that freedom may not be possible. Hopefully I have inherited my Mum's genes though as she is striding ahead of us at the age of 87!

A beautifully done thankfulness poem. Good luck in the contest. Most of us forget to thank God for a body full of pain, even after we get better. Thank you for thinking of this.
