Chicago is known both as 'The Windy City' and 'The Toddlin' Town.'

The wind blows from the East
   to tame Summer's beast
of humidity, heat and stress
   that rage from the West

Welcome breezes from the South
   turn chill North gusts around
As we dig out from snowstorms
   Open up our 'toddlin' town'

See what Kim wrote? I was about to write the same thing and I lived in Chicago for nine years.

Sinatra called it that. Don' know if he coined the term or not, but he sure gave it a shot in the arm! :) gw

Loved the info. I didn’t know Chicago was also called the toddlin town! Fun poetry!

It seems to me that if he didn't coin the term, Frank Sinatra made it famous. Oh, well...

Agreed. No snow on the radar for quite a while. Enjoy summer too, Darlene! Best wishes, Gershon

Guess you don't need weather forecasters ,Gershon,..just a solid weather vane.Liked the quaternion form.

Well, Brian, I looked up quaternion, and I now understand the depth of your mathematical knowledge. Whew! That term is way over my head! I'll accept the positivity of the comment at face value. (Like I have a choice! LOL!). Thank YOU! Best wishes, Gershon
