A Tale of Love

I have a tale of love about a boy A memory that never will grow dim He was my guiding light, my, life, my joy I never loved another, only him. It started long ago when we were young He caught my eye and smiled his gentle smile My eager heart turned over, I was stung, But still I kept him waiting for a while. He was a soldier in the Royal Scots He went to war, to fight, and do his bit, He never did return, but in my thoughts The glow still glimmers from the lamp he lit. His mortal presence gone, flown like a dove I am alone, but I remember love. Written January 2010

Margaret,I think I've run out again of poems of yours to see and return comments to. I'm back at the beginning where I have been before. haha. I am curious, are you posting like I do, just one a day usually (with many more in your files to post?) or are you posting as they come to you? It's a nice day here in Utah! Luv, andrea

ps Margaret, I really do believe in the power of numbers. My 5 vibrates so strongly . It is always showing up. My bday 9/5/55, and my height ended up being five foot 5.5 inches! If you are always seeing 4, it's just extra affirmation for you of the strength of that number in your life!

So tragic. It reminds me of my own love story from the past, and how I never saw him again after a very short time of knowing him. Except that you knew this one a long time!(unless it is fictionalized?) I really liked this. I am on the first you posted here and it's the LAST one of yours I have read. Now I need for you to start posting one a day. haha. It would be cool to do a chapbook with someone like you. I think we write very similarly. Luv, andrea
