A Sunny Day
The scene outside my window,
was bathed in hazy gray.
One continuous cloudy shadow,
appearing to envelope the day.
A hot heavy mist filled the air,
stifling any hope of a breeze.
Tall grasses bent, a heavy burden to bear.
no longer standing with ease.
Beyond land, the powerful sea,
with waves, the color of the sky.
Into the horizon, constant yet free,
white crests, rising so high.
No sign of light from the sun,
unable to push through a ray.
It remains dreary, night will come,
tomorrow, said to be a sunny day.
