'Gronk' was in what's termed 'concussion protocol' nine times we know of for major concussions. As medical research on other players has shown, he no doubt suffered dozens of 'minor concussions' over his injury-shortened career.

Hello Gershon … this concussion issue is also big in Australian Rules Football, but they don't have padding either. It also a high contact sport. Later in life will become an issue for the 'Gronk'. - thanks Gershon - Lindsay

So many deal with this throughout their short careers. Gronk was one of the greatest tight ends and he will eventually pay the price I am sad to say. What is the price of fame and fortune? I think I rather be the kicker. Nicely done my friend. Oh, not a Pats fan, at least my Eagles beat them in the Super Bowl. : )

Thanks, Jack. He was a hard-hitting tight end, one of the all-time greats. Just retired at 29. ~ gw

You've helped me see this one with a reader's eyes, as I hadn't intended any humor at all... Now that I've read it again, I see how it works... I don't know if you know of 'Gronk,' but the guy was only 29 when he retired, at the peak of his productive years --- but a broken-down football player. He had lots of other issues besides concussions too. Smart guy, though. He's already shed about 30 pounds and looks great now... (Tackle) football may not be around in a couple of generations. Youth participation is down over 25% nationwide. Thanks for the feedback again, Brenda. :) gw
