A funeral isn’t real fun But taxes and death we can’t shun I’ll spend my time on earth To spread a little mirth And prevent folk getting too glum I arrived home and guess what I saw An envelope popped through my door From a sweet soup friend of mine Their book is truly divine This poet’s work I just adore! On Friday my hubby helped at a funeral where the church was too small to hold in excess of 400 mourners He put a pa system in the graveyard so everyone could hear the service. Meanwhile I was attending another funeral of one of his ex work colleagues and hubby was to join me later once the funeral was over. When I got home there was a surprise package on the door mat – a gift of a lovely little poetry book containing gorgeous photographs and words. As you can imagine it lifted my spirits no end! 03/08/20

It was so wonderful to get back from our friend David's memorial service and find the gift on my doorstep my hubby had had a trying day with 2 funerals to go to but he pulled out all the stops to be able to provide a PA system fr the mourners who couldn't get in the church :-) hugs Jan xx

Sorry for your losses, dear Jan! How wonderful and comforting is the Lord who sends us good things just when we need them. God was so good to me when my cousin had cancer and even after she died always placing people in the right places. It was truly amazing. Bless you, my sweet poetry friend. <3 Kim

We knew our friend David had terminal cancer but the funeral my hubby helped out was a suicide and as you can guess that has shaken the community. Hugs Jan xx

'but taxes and death we cant shun' ...so true, so true..my experience of funerals is lots come together in short space of time leaving me so worn out, so when a small gesture of kindness is shown, like from your friend, its like a comforting hug. Jx

Thanks Jackie, 2 funerals in one day for my hubby was a tough ask but he wouldn't have let the family of the deceased man down - we didn't know him at all and his death was very sad, the other event was a celebration of our friend's life and was a very memorable occasion:-) hugs Jan xx
