A Sonnet For My Mother
From the very beginning, our souls interlaced
A life long bond, with enough strength to never break
Your eternal love, it will never be replaced
You offer a warm embrace, through all my mistakes
When I was a child, we were inseparable
Lasting memories, of when we would laugh and play
Then came the day, that dad finally went away
Who knew, the scars he left were irreparable
Poor decisions made, but I didn't want to leave
My life was going nowhere, I had to find me
The years have passed by, a new life I have weaved
I will pray, that my children you will get to see
All the years apart, brought you closer to my heart
And maybe, in the afterlife we wont depart
