Soldier on my brave friend one loyalty to bear it is to this we owe our stock and for fortune duly share When dark hours invade our hearts with no plan for our escape we will tighten ranks and challenge fear for the future is ours to shape Together if we face the brink of never turning back may all see one set of prints left showing from our tracks To that end what will has forged we'll finish you and I together as one to see it through such loyalty never dies. Great write Charlie, bravery and camaraderie combined, and the one set of tracks, heading toward the foe shows the steadfastness of the soldier, I have tried to put these feelings in my poems, "Gallipoli", "A British Soldier at Balaclava", and "They Came Home Today", I hope I have succeeded as well as you.

This is a great write, Charlie. I love the topic you have written about since I have 3 men that were in the service and one a prison guard worried all the time a 7 and good luck in the contest. hugs eve

Oh, this is wonderful, Charlie. Comrades, through and through, a soldier must be. Depending and trusting each other, side by side. Like others, I have a grandson serving his country, just this morning received photos of him, with his fellow soldiers on maneuvers. My eyes swelled with tears, and concern, but also with pride. You wrote a perfect poem for the contest!
