Notes About The Poem

A Soldiers Oath

Soldier on my brave friend
          one loyalty to bear
     it is to this we owe our stock
          and for fortune duly share

     When dark hours invade our hearts
          with no plan for our escape
     we will tighten ranks and challenge fear
          for the future is ours to shape

     Together if we face the brink
          of never turning back
     may all see one set of prints
          left showing from our tracks

     To that end what will has forged
          we'll finish you and I
     together as one to see it through
          such loyalty never dies.
