A Sneaker's Tale

I'm a simple pair of canvas sneakers, size 5. My colors are black with red trimming. I sit on the shelf awaiting the day, when I get picked to be a lucky kids shoes. Finally, the day arrives when I am chosen by a little boy. I eagerly wait to be free from my box, so I can go on adventures with him. Within a few short months, I am no longer a clean new pair of sneakers. I am a little muddy, from many trips to the creek & jumping in rainy puddles; a little ripped, from when the puppy chewed on me & travel worn from being my kids favorite pair of sneakers. I am slowly coming apart at the seams & sadly I know that someday soon I will be discarded and thrown away, because I have been loved so dearly that I simply fell apart. I am proud though that I got to be a little boys favorite pair of sneakers for awhile.
