A Slice of Heavenly
I opened the door and there was the pain and regrets
I met the drugs and the alcohol
The addiction and the abuse
The prosperity and the failure
The screaming bones and the tainted commandments
The effects of a life that lived on a tightrope
I couldn't take it anymore
So i left and met the dying angel
The young heart, that had little time to live
The cancer cells were roaming everywhere in her
The woman that made me fear i, a mother
The little children to be left behind
The uncertain future and the fears unknown
So i cried, God are you playing tricks on me? Why do you have to make me see this?
I closed that door immediately and met a war victim
The man who had lost kids to a war that stole so many lives
An orphan at an early age
always an immigrant trying to fight for his human rights
A man bound physically but not in there
For he spoke of You only, the love for You only
A great witness, a captive set free
My mind searched for answers of this life
How fragile it is
In a blink of an eye things can go from zero to three sixty
So many other doors opened and closed
But they never fully closed in the mind and the heart
There were memories, handshakes, connections, sirens, chest compressions, goodbyes, hope..
There was the past, the tomorrow and the today
And everyday i live i believe more in You, my God
