Life seems surreal, a sleepwalking dream, caught in an alternate reality. And sometimes I question my sanity, sandwiched between hype and hyperbole. Lies grind me down till I'm insensitive to the pain and suffering of others. And I don't speak out with indignation when babes are pried from the arms of mothers. The internet offers a disconnect, all individualism is erased. And replacing feelings with emojis, it is easier to copy and paste. Humanity has digitized its heart, but technology can't Bluetooth that part.

Your poem speaks to modern society almost willfully programming an easy callousness into itself. It's a concern that I share, but I couldn't have worded it as pointedly as you have here. Very well written.
