A Sip of Poison
You say you have fallen in love with me,
And that I cut you so very deep,
Ripping the pieces of your puzzle from their frame,
Soaking them in whiskey - that they'll never be the same,
And the burn down your throat,
Has just gotten to your brain,
Raising the heat as you suffer in pain.
Warm skin flushed by dusty booze,
Brushed off for just a sip or two,
Time ticking as the bottle drains,
Hands covered in black ink stains,
And you have written me a love poem again.
Late night, blurred lines,
Your hands caress a ghost invented by your mind,
You pulse with passion as you touch imagined skin,
Lips following a trail of Gin.
