A simple mortal

In tears, I write a confession to the disappointed man from the future, that all we put into love is just the fear of death. I bind to the spirit through hope, for through hope I will be able to die, Today I am like a graceful bird, and tomorrow I will be a worm in the field. Tortured forever in faith, because in faith I am sure I will die, I abandoned my own being so that I could exist forever. I let myself be carried by the wave of bad thoughts that dig trenches in me, A vile triumph over my life, for I am destined to suffer as a mortal. I am cursed to feel every pain, for through pain humans will not perish, But it leaves wounds increasingly heavy that give birth to another human. I distance myself from people and I suffer, only to then kill myself from longing And unable to remain in this world, I relive myself in a minor minute, For I know that in all that is to come and in all that has been, The ultimate truth remains... I am just a simple mortal.
