A Silly Chicken Poem

Looking for adventure a chicken crossed the road
Danger! Danger! Lest you be flattened like a toad...

But when our little chicky got to the other side..
"Why it's no different here!" she so sadly cried...

She started to scratch about, as chickens are apt to do
Just why she did that..she really had no clue..

She met a sneaky fox, a handsome kind of guy
She had no idea, he was thinking of pot pie..

He madly chased her through some yellow grass
For he had been looking for a succulent little lass..

With a frightened squawk she headed straight for home
With ruffled feathers she vowed no more to roam..

Now that's the end of my silly chicken tale

This is about as well as any chicken poem can be written. It have good descriptiveness and rhyming. If Frank Perdue and Colonel Harlan Sanders were alive today, I'm sure both of them would appreciate your work.

No Soup mail for you, dear LNC! This was hilarious. I once saw chickens playing in the road while driving to work. The next day the home where they resided had a sign posted: "Barbecued chicken." Thanks for the smiles today, Barbara. Love and blessings, Carolyn

Adorable! I think the humor hit me harder because my mom actually has chickens in the back yard, and they really can be quite hilarious. And yes, they have crossed the road. Enjoyed this very much. By the way, thank you for your comment on my poem "Empty Apartment." It's nice to have someone to relate to.
