A Self-Reflection Sonnet

I rarely ponder who I am or why.
I’ve just accepted God made me this way -
a woman who -but if she tried – might fly,
yet still I’m crawling to this very day!
I fall into routines. The things I do
are things that bring me comfort – nothing more
and nothing less, for I don’t aspire to
great lofty goals; I’m simply asking for
some answers which I pray that God would give
to me, but maybe I’m unworthy of
the help I seek though I sure love to live!
How would it be to feel God’s warming love
to buoy me up? I’m grateful, after all,
yet sometimes I cannot help feeling small.

Wow! Congrats! Thanks for sharing about yourself through this wondrously inked sonnet --- so delightful and delighting from the start, till the end; especially these lines: "How would it be to feel God’s warming love to buoy me up? I’m grateful, after all, yet sometimes I cannot help feeling small." God bless you.

This is stunningly wonderful, my friend. It is not entirely different from mine in that you are asking God for answers to life's deeper questions. It shows your humility and gratitude, and that instantly makes it a fave for me. But also, reading your sonnets is like attending a master's class. I always learn something new. Keep searching for those answers, dear friend, I believe God will honor that request. As for feeling small sometimes, I think that goes along with being human. Love it! ~ John

Hello Andrea … anothe fine sonnet indeed. We are alive so we should take advantage of what we are given. Being something we’re not doesn’t equal happiness - thank you Andrea - Lindsay

A though provoking poem Andrea, I'm certain that God's love is warm and we will all find out one day but for now 'I sure love to live!' also. Hugs my friend, Jennifer.

Do you rarely ponder? I would have thought you would do that regularly, I think many people do... Your sonnets are always spot on..

things are what they are, so no, I do not spend my time pondering on many things! I am an escapist. I get lost in movies and I love to dream at night!

An excellent self-reflection sonnet Andrea. We all question ourselves at times, wondering if we’ve any worth at all. We can only to our best and be thankful for all things of which we’ve been blessed... Belle
