A Secret

You want to know a secret? I see racist people, all the time. Some people by ignorance’s, don’t know that they’re racist, others know their racist, and try an hide it! Every day! I see racist people, they are everywhere. They walk around and don’t realize, that they’re racist, just simply by their own fears, emotions and actions. I see racist people, their attitude show it, but they don’t know it! Do you want to know a secret? You are a ______? You have a non-diverse attitude!

very nice. i have a friend that i thought i new for ten years at first all was good but as time went by things started to show. i saw a lot of his attitudes change and made comments about others moving into uk northern ireland. as a result i have had to distance myself its wrong to judge people we do not know. i told him straight love your neighbours as yourself.

Diane! I concur with your comments. And for those the truth is a hard thing swallow, especially when you can't see it in yourself! Thanks for reading my poem.

Thank you joseph! I wrote this back in 1978 in high school. When my innocence was awaken and realizing my perspective on the character of life had more absolutes to follow that was much different than my peers. I appreciate your words!
