A Sam N Fish Story

Sam N. Fish fell in love with a mermaid
At the wedding her gills started to fade
  After a cup of water
She said, I guess we 'ought-er'
Rent a submarine in the everglades...

Sam N. quickly looked into the matter
Saw that his bank book had to be fatter
  Sam bought some blue-chip stocks
Then he got a huge shock
Market was underwater ~ so sad, sir

What a clever play on words: Sam N and sammon. Had to laugh at the thought of a submarine in the Everglades where the water is shallow. Unfortunately, stocks are going crazy now. If we beat the pandemic, maybe they'll steady. Enjoyed your limerick, Gershon! Hugs, Carolyn

Ha, ha! As long as my stocks 'go crazy,' I'll laugh all the way to the cashier's window... Thanks, Carolyn! :) gw
