A Reminder

I am the mountains surrounding you
To cradle your life and give you strength
I will offer you colors in weather and seasons
Then, sparkle smiles, when topped with snow
I will give you reminders of goals 
Challenges to climb and to conquer
I will be steady and yet peaceful
The lake in front of me, will reflect my views
That you can share and look into 
I am, but a painting to remind you
Of all these things waiting outside
A captured memory, a framed reminder on display
To look again and again, and again – forever –

As I read, thoughts filled my head of my life in Vermont, a view of Killington Mountain and Lake Champlain in the summers. It was so thought- provoking and made me close my eyes to reminisce.
