A Redneck Love Poem

A REDNECK LOVE POEM

Susie Lee done fell in love,
She planned to marry Joe.
She was so happy 'bout it all,
She told her pappy so.

Pappy told her, Susie Gal,
You'll have to find another.
I'd just as soon yore ma don't know,
But Joe is yore half brother.

So Susie put aside her Joe,
And planned to marry Will;
But after telling Pappy this,
He said,Thar's trouble still.

You can't marry Will my gal,
And please don't tell yore mother,
But Will and Joe and several mo',
I know is yore half brothers.

But Mama knew and said, My Child,
Just do what makes ye happy.
Marry Will or marry Joe,
Ye ain't no kin to Pappy.

                                       Author Unknown

                                        (Jes like Pappy)

I didn't write this but it was so cute I had to share it.

                                                       Judy Ball

Trouble is like a freight train that pulls slowly out of the station and gradually builds up speed and momentum. I like the switch to the other track (i.e. "Ye ain't no kin to Pappy). Thanks

The twist and turn of what we yearn can leave you ever wonder'n. Amidst a spurn of what you learn that leaves the ground a thunder'n. Glad you posted this Judy, the ending was a double edged sword.

This was great. Rednecks are in a league of their own. No pretenses, just fun to be around. Beats the stuffed shirts by a long shot. Vince

That is a hoot! Thanks for sharing, Judy. Also, I wish to thank you for your kind comments re: When the Time is right. Giving my daughter up for adoption, was the hardest thing I ever did in my life. Times were so different 45 years ago. Thank you for caring. Love, Lainie
