A Rebel's Soul
First things first,
I've got a lot to get off my chest,
and I won't rest,
until it's all been said.
So get ready for the dark words,
that are swimming around in my head...
Second things second,
you have no right,
to tell me what I should be,
and try to change me,
with all your might,
cause it's then and only then,
I'm gonna stand up and fight.
I grew up with a rebel's soul,
one that nobody can control...
Don't tell me what to do,
cause I won't listen to you.
I'll just walk away....
with nothing to say....
I won't do what you tell me....
Third things third,
stop looking at me that way,
crying your eyes out as I say,
what's on my mind.
I gave you all of me,
I hid nothing from you.
And yet, you have your smile,
but mine....
I still can't find.
Last things last,
I'm fired up,
I'm tired of the way things are....
I still love you,
but I will do it from afar.
I'm not a verbal punching bag,
I'm not a target....
I am a man with feelings.
A man with a heart....
the very same thing,
that you've ripped apart.
I grew up with a rebel's soul,
one that nobody can control...
Don't tell me what to do,
cause I won't listen to you.
I'll just walk away....
with nothing to say....
I won't do what you tell me....
So with all of these words out in the open,
I will now turn my attention,
to my own self....
never again....
will I fall so far....
that I can't be rebuilt from the inside...
don't judge me....
if you don't know the tears I've cried....
the pain...
the stress....
It's onward to happiness,
and being free....
it's on to joy and peace in my life,
and back to being me.
Can't you see?
Just let me be,
let me spread my wings and fly....
let me be the happy me,
until the day I die.
